YOGA STYLES
Forrest yoga
The pillars of the Forrest Yoga practice are: Breath, Strength, Integrity and Spirit.
This practice has changed my view of how to look after my body. It's creator - Ana Forrest has been fine tuning this approach for over 35 years gifting an honest and challenging yoga practice that is not based on a tradition but focuses on developing strength, with compassion and integrity. It works in equal measures with the physical and emotional body through intent and breath. It wakes up parts of us that have been numb or asleep for a long time.
It rehabilitates shoulders, releases neck tension through a unique approach to neck position in yoga poses, reignites energy from toes to fingers.
You will be working on your core.
You will be learning arm balances and introduction to a handstand practice, even if you are an absolute beginner.
You will be doing poses you've never heard of before and they will feel different in your body.
You will be going Deeper.
Yin Yoga
A perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular style of yoga. A gentle restorative practice, where we hold poses for a longer period of time in a passive mode, without muscle tension. Work is predominantly done in the fascia and connective tissues – joints, tendons and ligaments. Great for healing injuries, increasing flexibility and promoting stillness of the mind. Draws on Daoist philosophy and the meridian work. Suitable for all.
Yin Yang Practice
Combining dynamic strength-based movement with relaxing and restorative finish aimed at relieving tension and calming the mind.
Roll & Release
A yin style class of deep-tissue, fascia-oriented self-massage. We use myofascial release massage balls to release tension from tight and restricted body areas. It helps eliminate pain, increase flexibility and aid full body relaxation. Perfect post-work out class! Suitable for all.
Power Flow
A vinyasa based class where movement is linked with breath. In this energetic class we work in equal measures on increasing strength and flexibility. A set sequence based approach helping students explore their edge and observe progress in their practice. Options for beginner and advance yogis, all welcome. Expect some fire :)
YOGA NIDRA
Yoga Nidra is a very unique practice, also known as the "yogic sleep".
It's a conscious experience of dreamless, deep sleep where you begin to connect more strongly to your inner world and disconnect from the outer world, fostering a full body relaxation.
It holds immense benefits for all those who struggle to let go, those who suffer from insomnia or troubled sleep patterns, trauma, burn-out, and anxiety. It is also highly beneficial and holds great healing power for anyone who wants to experience a deeper sense of peace and re-connect more profoundly with themselves.
When done regularly and especially when followed by a sound bath, it can become a very powerful healing practice for all of our layers - the physical, mental, emotional, and energetic. Sound healing can bring profound health benefits from pain relief to reduction in anxiety and depression symptoms, navigating out of the fight or flight state towards a deep relaxation and a parasympathetic activation.
